How "Games for Charity" Works

Do you like to play video games? If you're like most of the world, you probably answered yes. Do you think it would be cool to help support life changing charities? Well, of course you do, but what does that have to do with video games? These questions might not seem related, but at Bee The Swarm, we're launching an idea that will let you accomplish both of these things - at the same time. Our first project is Games for Charity, and the concept is exactly what the name suggests; supporting various charities with the help of online gaming. ZomBees – available for download on iOS and Android devices later this month - will be the first of its kind. Our online game will be similar to a lot of the games you like to play already, but with ours you'll be doing a lot more than just earning points and passing levels - you'll be supporting worthwhile causes all around the world.

But how can you help fund anything by playing a free online game? It’s actually quite simple. Online games generate income - even if they're free to download. Some of the money comes from in-app purchases, and a large portion of it comes from advertisers who pay to have their ads put up on the site. If you're wondering how much money can be made from a free online game, consider this: Candy Crush, one of the most popular free online games out there, generated over one billion dollars last year.

One billion dollars is a lot of money. Imagine one company making that much in one year. Now imagine all of that going to fund hospitals, save endangered species, provide disaster relief, and set up schools for kids in impoverished countries. Sound good to you? It does to us. And you can help us do all of that just by playing a game.

With your help, we plan on Games For Charity becoming a money-making success, with all of the revenue supporting the people and the charitable organizations that need it most. And we're not just talking about 50% of our revenue, either. We're not talking 60%. Not even 95%. No, we're launching this idea specifically to raise funds for charity, meaning that 100% of our gaming revenue will be given to the charities we support.

play games, earn bees, fund campaigns, get funded

If this sounds like something you want to help support, that’s great! Because we need your help to get the ball rolling. Since we are spending 100% of revenue on our charities, that means that we don't have a budget for marketing. Without T.V commercials or fancy advertisements, we only have one way to get more people backing us up and supporting us - word of mouth.

You can help us out by spreading the news on social media to start talking to your family and friends about who we are and what we plan to do. Like our Facebook page and invite your friends to do the same, send out a message on your Twitter account, give us a shout out on your YouTube channel; anything to get others interested in and excited about our project.

We still have quite a ways to go to make this a reality, and we could use your help to get started. To find out more about our games and mission, contact us today. We know we're going to accomplish great things in the future, and you can help us get there by getting the word out and sharing our motto -

Play games, have fun, and do good!
